With this integration, Dimensions further broadens the view of activity across the research lifecycle and provides valuable insights into an important and high profile aspect of the impact of the research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initially drawn from over 50 global policy sources via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altmetric.com\/\">Altmetric<\/a>, the integration of these documents will enable users to analyze the societal influence of published research, and track policy activity and trends around the world. With this integration, Dimensions becomes the first of any bibliographic database or research analytics tool to offer such capability. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1659 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dimensions.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/pasted-image-0-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"912\" height=\"570\"><\/p>\n<p>Users of the free version of Dimensions, which provides openly available search and related metrics for over 96 million publications, will be able to see the citing policy documents listed in individual publication records.<\/p>\n<p>Within Dimensions Plus and Dimensions Analytics, users will also be able to search across all of the policy records &#8211; with the option to further filter by publication year, publishing organization and research category.<\/p>\n<p>Policy sources that are part of this initial integration include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Government of the United Kingdom<\/li>\n<li>World Health Organization<\/li>\n<li>World Bank<\/li>\n<li>Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/li>\n<li>Australian Policy Online<\/li>\n<li>And over 45 others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Speaking about the development, Dimensions project lead Christian Herzog commented, \u201cInformation on where and how research has been referenced in policy is a critical part of the puzzle for researchers and organizations looking to understand the broader influence of their work.
