{"id":11001,"date":"2019-06-13T20:04:03","date_gmt":"2019-06-13T20:04:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dimensions.ai\/?p=11001"},"modified":"2024-10-31T16:22:56","modified_gmt":"2024-10-31T15:22:56","slug":"new-erih-plus-features-shows-dimensions-data-through-a-humanities-and-social-sciences-lens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dimensions.ai\/blog\/new-erih-plus-features-shows-dimensions-data-through-a-humanities-and-social-sciences-lens\/","title":{"rendered":"New ERIH PLUS features shows Dimensions data through a humanities and social sciences lens"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Dimensions team is excited to announce a new partnership with the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsd.uib.no\/english\/\">Norwegian Centre for Research Data (NSD)<\/a>&nbsp;that will increase the visibility, searchability, and availability of social sciences and arts and humanities (HSS) research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Humanities and social sciences researchers are likely well-aware that traditional A&amp;I databases typically don\u2019t cast a wide enough net to capture their high-quality and often niche research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the NSD-Dimensions partnership, we aim to set a new standard: that HSS research can and should be as easy to find as other fields are in multidisciplinary discovery and analytics products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dimensions is not a traditional A&amp;I database\u2014instead, Dimensions brings together over 140 million publications, grants, clinical trials, patents, policy documents, and their associated metrics into a multidisciplinary database that\u2019s been designed to be as open and inclusive as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through our partnership with NSD, we\u2019re now able to offer more services tailored specifically to the social sciences and arts and humanities. To do this, we\u2019re leveraging the NSD\u2019s European Reference Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences (ERIH PLUS), a journal index that was developed by and for European HSS researchers to enhance the global visibility of high-quality research published in academic journals in various European languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dimensions\u2019 new, ERIH PLUS-powered services currently include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An ERIH PLUS journal list filter, which allows users to easily identify high-quality SSH research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/erih.dimensions.ai\/discover\/publication\">\u201cERIH PLUS by Dimensions\u201d database<\/a>, which combines the functionality and extensive data sources of Dimensions with ERIH PLUS, enabling users to analyze and explore ERIH PLUS journals in greater depth and detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We view these two new services to be just a starting point. The ultimate goal we\u2019re working towards is capturing the entirety of HSS knowledge production\u2014just as we\u2019re aiming to eventually do for STEM fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ERIH PLUS by Dimensions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The freely available ERIH PLUS by Dimensions database allows users to analyze and explore ERIH PLUS journal content in all its richness. In ERIH PLUS by Dimensions, users can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-dimensions-two-column\"><div class=\"dimensions-section\" style=\"background-color:#F4F4F4;background-size:cover;background-position:center center;background-image:url('undefined')\"><div class=\"dimensions-blocks-section-inner align-columns-start container mx-auto pl-0 pr-0 pt-0 pb-8\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-2-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-dimensions-column dimensions-column pr-0 pl-0 pt-0 pb-0\">\n<p>Search across all 7.5 million publications published in ERIH PLUS journals (in both full-text and title and abstract searches), via keyword search and also Dimensions\u2019 unique <a href=\"https:\/\/dimensions.freshdesk.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/23000018802-how-to-search-in-dimensions\">abstract search<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column ERIH PLUS content in the context of the larger Dimensions publications database, enabling comparison and search across all of Dimensions\u2019 100 million publications.
